Cats Vs. Dogs

Hundar har ägare, katter har slavar.

För att tillfredsställa en katt måste ett nytt existentiellt tillstånd skapas – halvvägs mellan inne och ute.

Katter hatar stängda dörrar.. oavsett på vilken sida om dem de är.

En hund kommer när du kallar på den. En katt noterar meddelandet och återkommer till dig.

Katter har ett väldigt litet ordförråd. De förstår inte varför de ska slösa tid på att lära sig ord. För trots allt har de ju ändå inte för avsikt att lyda dem.

Du kan inte lära dina katter några trick – de kan redan alla.

Gin and Mika

Påsk och baby passning!

Jag har väl inte riktigt hängt med på påsken här nere som alla andra. Jag har haft lång ledigt under påsken och nu är det bara ikväll samt imorgon kvar. Sedan är det dags för arbete igen.
Under dessa dagar har jag varit både upptagen med passning samt riktig vårstädning i hemmet. Det känns som jag städar stup i kvaten men det är så när man har en del katter som springer ut och in.

Samt att tiden springer iväg och jag vet inte var den tar vägen.

Lite bilder frång min trädgård som sakta börjar att ta form.

Här är mitt fantastiska citron träd som man kan sitta och fika under. Mycket c vitamin. Ibland blir det en kopp te med citron.

2 stycken krukor som jag fått till och som börjar ta sig. Jag har inga blommor inne eftersom huset i sig är ganska mörkt. Men jag hoppas att jag får några krukor till innan sommaren börjar.

Denna blomma som börjar växa i januari blommar i feruari och snart dags att klippa ner för att ta sig ingen på nytt nästa år.

En liten kaktus som tar sig sakta men säkert.

Mina Bogaviljor som rasade ner i vintras på grund av starka vindar och var tvungen att klippa ner helt och hållet. Det tog sin tid. Dom var enorma och föll ner till marken. Hade ingen aning att bogaviljorna hade sylvassa taggar. Det fick man gott erfara.

Min lilla vinranka som jag klippte ner helt och hållet när jag flyttade in har klippt ner det hela tiden men i år tänkte jag se hur den tar sig och kanske ha den på husväggen. Druvor till nästa år. Kanske göra lite RobSin Rhodes vin.

Och till sist, de gräss jag sådde för ca 2 veckor sen börjar ta sig. Härligt att se. Det kanske blir en grässmatta iallafall.

Det ska vattnas och tas hand om, det ska bli ganska kul att se vad som händer denna sommar.

Sen har det blivit till ökning i familjen samt lite passning. Mathia har fått 3 bebisar och här är en bild på hela familjen.

Hon har också hjälpt mig med att ta hand om en babies från vetrinären som jag har tagit hand om sen i onsdags.

En härlig liten krabat som springer runt hela dagarna och man måste se upp som man inte trampar på den. Det kommer att bli svårt att lämna tillbaka honom till Marika.
Dessutom har jag sen i fredags fått passa en speciell gäst, denna söta katt har blivit påkörd av en bil och lämnat på sidan av gatan. Den har nu blivit lite bättre och behöver översyn under dagen för att få hjälp att kissa. Special mat och mycket kärlek. Hon kommer att vara hemma med mig fram till på tisdag.

Här är en kort snutt av hur hon tar sig fram. Under större delen av dagen är hon i sitt eget rum och har sin special mat. Men några gånger under dagen har hon varit ute i trädgården och legat i solen. Kommer inte riktigt överens med dom andra. Men det har inte varit något bråk.
Själv ska jag nu villa efter att ha gjort rent min spis och nu ska det lagas mat i ugn. Har inte riktigt vågat använda min gas ugn.... får se om jag lyckas.....

Babies

Today I gave Tinnie away for steralization and in the evening I picked up two kittens for baby sitting. During the easter the vet will be closed and as I get help with the cats I volonter with help sometimes.
So until tuesday next week I have 2 extra kittens. One is very week and the other one is about 4 weeks and everywere. Mathia is taking care of the small one and I'm taking care of the bigger one. The tiny one is not looking good.  We don't think it will survive. Was very weak when I got him. But we will se if Mathia can help him. 

It's late and every body sleeps. 

My thought's

I have been thinking during the weekend about my future and what I want to do. There are many thing's that I want to do, but I realiaze that I can only do one thing at a time.
So one project first and then we will see.

Good and bad news!

My landlord came over to look at the things that have to be done with the house as it’s leaking in water and he took with him a translator. The good thing I knew this man and he is a neighbor. Love cats too. I explained that I have the knowledge to fix things around the house and he was happy that I could do it. So I just need to buy the necessary thing and start working. The good thing is that I take the receipts and deduct it from the rent. So here I go. Painting and fixing the house. It’s going to be nice.

Mathia got 3 baby kittens and will for now not be sterilized. Have to wait now for about 3 months and then do her. I was writing about Barbara’s cat that it was something wrong and her name is Dorothy. I have still not seen her. I’m afraid that it was poison and I have been out looking for her but nothing. But then she is very shy.   

So now I’m tired and it’s late and time for bed.

Busy weekend

The weekend has come to an end.  It has been very nice and felt quit long. Friday evening I was home late and just watched one episode of Medium season 6 and then went to sleep. I was tired after being up early on Friday. Saturday was cloudy but nice. I spend it in my house with my cats and some cleaning. When you have about 18 cats that are running in and out all the time and bringing in lots of dirt it gets filthy quit fast inside. Then I went to Pappou for food for me. I was invited to my neighbor Louisa for a glass of rose and small talk. Then my other neighbor Verda came by with vegetables that she had from her garden. She speaks Greek and Turkish but we manage to communicate anyway. She is really nice and sweet lady. But she looks tuff. Sometimes she comes out from her house in to our main small street in pajamas and sits down on our neighbors’ doorstep and takes a cigarette. Really cool lady.

In the evening I took a round tour with Jukka for his birthday. We took a dry Martini in Wonder, dinner at Agalma, went by to Pots and Pans for warm up party of the new owner and ended in Red and Blue for drinks.

Wonder – Fantastic Restaurant in Rhodes. Little bit expensive but really worth it.

Agalma - Great restaurant in Rhodes town on Alexander Diakou Street. Excellent food for a very good price. I recommend any meat with “potatisgratäng”

Pots and Pans – First time for me, but it’s a restaurant with Greek, Italian and Dutch food.

Red and Blue – Gay bar in Rhodes town, for now the only one that is open. Nice personal and drinks for a very good price.

Today have been very nice and sunny day, Was out in the garden all day and fixing and cleaning for the summer. Took some pictures that I will post and then I will have before and after when all is done as I want it. Had some company for a while and first coffee in the garden today.

Today also my landlord came to see the damage that has to be fixed. With a translator on the phone I got to know that he will come and fix the holes and leaking for the winter.

Finally Mika have been sleeping most of the day as back from the operation and on pills. She has been little bit in pain but today it was much better. Hopefully Mathia will be done this week.

Now I need sleep.     

Helvetets små odjur!!!!!

Jag har ett stort problem, Myggor älskar mig innerligt. Så mycket att dom suger ut det mesta. Och dom är redan här. Jag kommer inte undan. Dessutom så är dom inte som dom svenska myggorna dom är greker. Dom är inte större än svenska men desto mer vulgära och ger inte upp. Dom har satt sina spår på mig som jag inte ens kan nämna och hur dom kom dit är ett mysterium.

Jag har provat allt att bli av med dom, oljor,krämer, frukt, el med mera. Men jag inser att jag har flyttat hit och får helt enkelt actseptera att jag är oemotstånlig.

Nu till lite tråkigare saker, Barbaras katt Agnes har bettet sig väldigt underligt idag och jag försökte komma nära med det är omöjligt. Hon är den ända katten som inte jag kan komma nära. Jag är lite rädd om hon har fått i sig gift eller om hon har gjort illa sig i ansiktet. Men det är någonting. När jag tog på mig lite extra kläder och hanskar för att försöka fånga henne, var hon borta.

Mika är hemma igen nyopererad men okay. Fick veta att hon inte åt någonting, så när vi var hemma igen slängde hon sig på maten. Nu har hon gömt sig i städskrubben och får sova där i lugn och ro.

Från och med lördag så blir det dags för piller fem dagar framåt.

Projektet är pågång och jag kommer att jobba hårt med det framöver.

Men nu ska det sussas och jag önskar alla en god natt och vackra drömmar.   

Here we go again....

I went for a chase of the store with the cat food in Azkurou and found it. It was not a store, it was resale storage and they had big bags of animal food and lots of other things but no cat food. So I went home empty handed. I was back home for little bit of lunch and then to work.

Anyway, today have been sunny day again and back home I tried to catch Mathia for the 3 time this week and did not manage. I will get her soon.

Flekke is getting really old now. She comes to me when I’m sitting and put her to front legs on mine and then I have to pick her up. Can’t jump up anymore. Cutie!!!!

I have cooked cleaned and prepared for tomorrow. So soon it time for bed. But today I started to continue with my project for fame and glory……..

By the way, the secret thing that I was writing about before on my old blog about my family. Well, it turned out to be true and I found out more and talked with my mother for almost 2 hours last night.

What done is done and we have to live with it.

Medium

I’m watching the 5^th season of medium and it’s really good. It something special about Medium that I can relate to. It’s little bit of everything at the same time. So I recommend.

På Svenska

Just nu sitter jag och nyser, har fått en sån nys attack. Som min mor sa att min morfar nös alltid 13 gånger och efter det har jag alltid räknat och det stämde.

Det är lite kallt här nere idag, det är kanske det som gör det. Morgonen var kall och sen under dagen var det varmt och härligt i solen om man sat i lä från den kalla viden från turkiet. Men mesta dels spenderades dagen på kontoret.

Just nu är det full fart på alla här på ön. Det snikras, målas klips häckar och renoveras inför sommaren. Läste någonstand att det kommer ca 40 kryssningar in till Rodos under april månad så vi som bor i gamla stan kommer ha många faces som kommer att stirra genom fönstren.

Jag står i köket varje morgon och det första jag gör är att öppna fönsterluckorna och och fönstren mot gatan. Sätter på kaffe och matar katterna.

Ni som känner mig vet hur jag ser ut på morgonen. Som min mor sa en jävligt förbannad Einstein. (håret tänker hon på)

Kan ni tänka er turister komma förbi och tror att dom ska få en glimt om hur det kan se ut i ett hus och får se mig........ Mycket fnitter strax efter och ibland ett och annat (såg du honom) som om jag inte hörde..... hahaha

Ibland har man lust att säga har ni lust att komma in på en kopp Gevalia....(oväntat besök).  Fast jag kör Jacobs här nere.

Men, men jag är för blyg för sånt där....

Today I took Mika to the vet and it was lots of people waiting for the vet. 6 dogs and one cat waiting in line for the vet. Then I come in and feel like I taking the VIP entrance.  Harola and Angela see me and I pass all to the backroom. I spend some time with Mika before I leave her. She looked very scared and I did not want to leave her but I have no choice. I manage not to have any babies this year so far.

I feel that I want to do something more for the animals here. Many people are nice with the animals, but they don’t know how to take care of the animals. It’s scary how it can continue here. Some people should not be able to get animals.

I hope I can do something in the future.

Rainy and soft weekend with my cats

Time fly by fast, I turn my head and its evening. I have been working in the house improving my bed room with a closet for my clothes. Thanks to Nino’s drill and some ideas I got working and did it. It has been rain almost all Saturday and Sunday so I spend the time inside. Threw out a lot of garbage and cleaned a lot. Felt good to get out the things you don’t need or was broken. I’m like my grandfather, saving things even if they don’t work or I don’t need them. But now it’s all gone.

On Saturday morning I went to look for the store that had the cheap food for cats. I was driving around up and down, asking around but nothing. Finally I gave up and went to my regular store to buy about 100 cans. It should be enough for about 2 weeks.

Then on Sunday I went with a friend for the international market at Monte Smith, there I got to meet a friend that is also helpful with the animals here in Rhodes and I asked her if she knows about the store. She explained and told me that I was very close but I tried all roads accept that one. Is that not typical or what. So on Tuesday morning I will give it another try to find it. But now I have only one road to go.

When I was there around asking about the store NO ONE knew nothing. How can you have a shop and don’t what around you.

( Ibland kan jag bli så fly förbannad på folk att det kan koka över. Kan folk vara så jävla självupptagna att dom inte äns vet vem som är grannen.)

Anyway, when I’m home with my kittens they make my day. While I was cleaning the house and packing things in boxes so were my cats. At least Mini, Efti, Blinkis and Flekke wanted to help and were jumping in to the boxes and playing with stuff. But after a lot of fun and playing around with it was time for food. My neighbor Barbara’s cats, Jinx, Eric and Willy have more or less moved in into my house and spending the days here. Boobie (don’t know how to spell his name) is still outside and comes in only when I open the front door.

It’s time for me to go to bed as I have to go to the vet in the morning to leave one of my cats of sterilization. I have 6 females and about 12 boys. So I’m going to be very busy this few weeks.

Barbara will stay in England for another 2-4 weeks, so more cats for me.

Soon it time for Puss in boots…… can’t wait. ;)

I felt the earth move, Again!!!!

Thank god for Friday and weekend. At work today about 4 o’clock in the afternoon we had an earthquake here in Greece. It was closer to Crete but we felt it pretty good. It’s not an April’s fool day joke. Many of my colleagues panicked little bit but I was cool. I know that Rhodes is in the area for earthquakes but it only happened 2 times during 4 years that I have been here. They have been small ones. On my way back home I had to stop for cat food. I bought about 40 cans and it should cover about 4 days. But I heard about a new place for cheaper cat food. I will go in the morning to buy some test cans.  My cats are kind of spoiled in that way. They don’t eat everything when it comes to cat food. But if I make grilled chicken for me, then they are there and trying to steal it.  

So I will see what kind of this shop is, As I spend only on food every month about 300 euro and then I don’t count the vet or the medicine.

Tonight Wonder restaurant opened for the season and I wish I could be there. If you are in Rhodes you should definitely try it out. Great food and excellent service, what else do you need.

It time for me to finish up and then go to sleep. Big day tomorrow as I want to make a closet in the bedroom. 
Also little bit more blogging, have some ideas.
